Bangor Academy's Girls Golf team

are All Ireland Champions!

Following their second consecutive successful win at the Ulster Schools' Golf  Championships, Sarah-Louise Winter and Victoria Bradshaw played for Bangor Academy in the All Ireland School final at Milltown Golf Club on 28th April 2007.  Our girls led from the very start, with Victoria turning one under par at the ninth on Milltown's testing par 73 ladies course.  This stiff challenge proved too much for the other five pairs of Irish district winners. 

At the beginning of June, in honour of their success, the girls enjoyed afternoon tea at the Mayor's Parlour in Bangor.  They were accompanied by Mr W. Hyndman (Principal), Mrs M. Caughers (Head of PE) and their parents. This is the first time the Golf Championship Trophy has come to Bangor and the first time in ten years that any Northern Ireland school has won the  prestigious accolade.
