Thank you for your interest in Bangor Academy and Sixth Form College.
The past few years have been very exciting in the life of the school as we have witnessed achievement after achievement by our pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
Within the classroom, our examination results have been maintained at a very high level, with 41.3% of all GCSE entries achieving Grade C or above.
In A level, 98.9% of all students gained one or more pass grades. 40 of our young people have transferred to university this year, and they are to be found in many locations throughout the
Whilst we acknowledge these examination successes, you may also be interested to know that Aidan Purdy-Say, gained 1st place in GCSE Applied ICT in all of Northen Ireland, Mark Baillie, gained 1st place in his GCE A Level in ICT (Single Award) in all of Northern Ireland and Lee-Anne Brennan gained 3rd place in her A Level Applied Health and Social Care (Single Award) again in all of Northern Ireland.
Outside the classroom there has been much success on the sporting field and in the realm of outdoor pursuits. In soccer, rugby, netball, swimming and golf we have many champions, not only winning championships but, in many cases, defending them successfully.
Finally, work on our new school building is progressing on schedule. We gained access on 6th May 2008. The building has the most modern rooms and equipment available and the playing fields include grass, all weather and astro-turf.
