Bangor Academy and Sixth Form College

 

Where do I go to when I arrive at the school?

There will be teachers to meet you at the school gate on your first morning. They will direct you to the Assembly Hall where you will sit with your form class.  After your first assembly you will go with your form tutor to your form room.

 

What do I need to bring?

The induction booklet (Guidelines for New Pupils)

The completed information forms (from the Guidelines for Parents or Guardians booklet)

Your birth certificate

A schoolbag, pens and pencils etc and a notebook

                                

 

What will I be doing during my first day?

You will spend all day with your form tutor who will do a number of activities to help you settle into your new school including:

 

Ø      Collecting your information forms

Ø      Giving you time to get to know your new class

Ø      Giving you your timetable and explaining it

Ø      Giving you your personal planner and explaining how to use it

Ø      Taking you on a tour of the school

Ø      Showing you where the toilets are located

Ø      Showing you how the canteen operates and where the open area is for eating packed lunches.

Ø      Explaining and practising fire drill procedure

 

What do I do at break-time and lunchtime?

You can go to the canteen and buy food. The canteen operates like a self-service cafeteria and has a variety of hot and cold food.  You might want to bring a packed lunch and this can be eaten in the open area where you can sit and chat with friends.

 

What do I wear?

Correct school uniform as described in the induction booklet should be worn.  Jewellery should be kept to a watch or a small pair of earrings.

 

Where can my parents park if they are delivering or collecting me from school?

Parents are asked to park in the car park and to keep the roadways clear so that the school area will be a safe environment for pupils.
